Incredible RGBW Sensors
URSA Cine Immersive features revolutionary new sensors designed for incredible quality images at 8160 x 7200 resolution per eye! Using the same revolutionary RGBW sensor design as URSA Cine, the new dual sensor layout features larger photo-sites, delivering an astounding 16 stops of dynamic range! The unique RGBW architecture provides equal amounts of red, green and blue pixels for incredible color super sampling. This means it is optimized to deliver incredibly rich colors and provide the ultimate in image quality and flexibility, even at the high frame rates immersive video requires! Now you can capture more detail with a wider dynamic range than ever!
Built in Color Balanced ND Filters
URSA Cine Immersive features high quality ND filters that let you quickly reduce the amount of light entering the camera. Designed to match the colorimetry and color science of the camera, the 2, 4, 6 and 8 stop filters provide you with additional latitude even under harsh lighting. The IR filters have been designed to filter both optical wavelengths and IR wavelengths evenly to eliminate IR contamination of the images from which many ND filters can suffer. URSA Cine ND filters are true optical filters with a precision mechanism that quickly moves them into place when the ND filter button is pressed. Filter settings are displayed as an ND number, stop reduction or fraction on the monitor!
A Camera Body Optimized for High End Productions!
While traditional digital film cameras have very basic user controls, Blackmagic URSA Cine has been designed with feedback from the world’s leading cinematographers so it’s loaded with controls needed for modern filmmaking. All buttons on the rugged and lightweight body operate quietly and are backlit for low light. There’s a built in 5″ fold out touchscreen for monitoring and accessing camera settings, plus a second dedicated assist station on the other side of the camera with its own 5″ LCD touchscreen. Standard connectors make it easy to use industry standard accessories and remote camera control. You also get 12G‑SDI monitoring out, 10G Ethernet for network media access and more!
Heads Up Display for Immersive Video
The large 5″ HDR touchscreens on Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive feature a heads up display, or HUD, specifically designed for framing, shooting and monitoring immersive video. The displays show the camera’s lens space, giving a 180º view of the scene as captured by the camera. You can tap the toggle to switch between the left and right lenses, or tap the image circle to zoom in for more accurate framing. In addition, an optional frame guide overlay shows the center of the frame and the approximate field of view the viewer will see when looking straight ahead. These monitoring tools provide the precision needed to frame and align immersive shots with confidence.
Physical Camera Controls and High Resolution Monitoring!
Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive lets crews work faster on set with extensive physical and touchscreen controls, as well as multiple monitoring options! The camera’s left side gives you easy access to all the essential functions. The fold out monitor has a large 5″ HDR touchscreen on one side and an external color status LCD on the other. On the right side of the camera, there’s a dedicated assist station with a second 5″ HDR touchscreen which allows crew to work around the camera without needing external monitors. Plus, with a 1500 nit display and removable sunshade, it’s always visible, even in bright sunlight. On screen overlays show status and record, histogram, frame guides and more.
Rugged Industry Standard Connections
The wide range of industry standard connections on URSA Cine make it perfect for high end cinema production. The 3 pin Fischer connector at the front provides record start/stop and 24V power so are ideal for on board accessories. Camera power is provided by a standard 24V 8 pin Lemo connection, plus there’s an additional 2 pin Lemo 12V connection at the rear for lower voltage accessories. All this means you can power accessories straight from the camera without messy external cabling! There are also two independent 12G-SDI outputs for monitoring on 2 different monitors with different overlays, plus 10G Ethernet for Blackmagic Cloud media syncing!

Blackmagic RAW is a revolutionary format designed to capture and preserve the quality of the sensor data from your camera. Blackmagic RAW files from Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive store camera metadata, immersive lens projection data, white balance, digital slate information and custom LUTs to ensure consistency of image on set and through post production. Constant quality options lock the quality level, allowing compression to adapt, matching the detail of the scene. Constant bitrate encoding options are designed to give you the best possible images with predictable and consistent file size. URSA Cine records to the Blackmagic Media Module allowing you to capture hours of Blackmagic RAW!
Blackmagic Generation 5 Color Science features a new film curve designed to make full use of the massive amount of color data from the new Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive sensors. This delivers even better color response for more pleasing skin tones, and better rendering of highly saturated colors such as neon signs and car tail lights in high contrast scenes. Generation 5 Color Science informs complex Blackmagic RAW image processing, with color and dynamic range data from the sensor preserved via metadata for use in post production. Compatible with all previously shot Blackmagic RAW files, Generation 5 Color Science lets you take advantage of the new film curve even with your existing work!
Built in Optical Low Pass Filter
The high frequencies of synthetic materials like fabrics or the LED matrix in video walls can cause problems for ultra sharp modern lenses and high resolution sensors, creating interference patterns. Using an optical low pass filter minimizes that interference, which results in a reduction of moire and aliasing. URSA Cine includes high performance, optical low pass filters that are precisely matched to the sensors. The OLPF also incorporates updated IR filtering that improves far red color response which, when combined with Blackmagic RAW processing for the URSA Cine, preserves color and critical image detail for new levels of image fidelity.

URSA Cine is the first digital film camera with ultra fast high capability Cloud Store technology built in. Blackmagic Media Module is fast, rugged and includes a massive 8TB of storage. It’s like a Cloud Store Mini built into your camera! The high speed storage lets you record dual 8K 90fps immersive video for hours and access your files directly over high speed 10G Ethernet. The module can be easily removed from the camera and loaded into a Blackmagic Media Dock for transferring media to a network or to Blackmagic Cloud for instant global collaboration! Blackmagic Media Dock accelerates your post production workflow by making it faster and simpler to start editing and color correction! The four high speed 10G Ethernet ports allow up to four separate edit workstations to connect directly and it is extremely fast, even when a lot of users are connected at the same time. Includes DaVinci Resolve Studio for Immersive Video
DaVinci Resolve Studio for Mac is the world’s only solution that combines editing, color, VFX, audio post and delivery for Apple Immersive Video. With support for decoding and playback of the stereoscopic 8K 90fps Blackmagic RAW files from URSA Cine Immersive, it’s a complete workflow from editing to playback on Apple Vision Pro. You get the same familiar, industry standard tools as 2D projects, now updated for 3D immersive video. New project settings bring Apple Immersive Video to every page including a new immersive video viewer that lets you view work on any monitor, an updated spatial Audio Editor as well as multiple ways to review and export Apple Immersive Video on Apple Vision Pro.
The edit page lets you work with files from the URSA Cine Immersive camera just like any other 2D media with the familiar editing interface. The new immersive viewer shows immersive video in its native state, converted to LatLong or to a viewport view that you can pan around in on screen. You can even add a 360º backdrop track that can appear outside of the projected immersive image.
When working with Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive files on the color page, you get full use of primary color correction tools, along with select secondary grading tools. New tools in the 3D palette such as the Edge Mask let you adjust the field of view captured by the camera to exclude microphones or other items that are just in shot. Edge Mask also adjusts the mask blend to soften the transition from the projected space to the backdrop.
The Fusion page now lets you create 3D titles and graphics that leap across the field of view, or work with USDZ files for true Hollywood caliber effects in immersive video. Familiar tools like the patcher and distort tools are updated to work seamlessly with immersive video. 3D images or compositions made in Fusion using the immersive workflow automatically convert from the virtual 3D space on the Fusion page to immersive lens space of the timeline.
You can now mix and master immersive Apple Spatial Audio Format (ASAF) soundtracks! Fairlight also fully supports up to 7th order ambisonic busses as well as objects and channels. The 3D panner view is enhanced for ASAF and lets you place sounds almost anywhere in 3D space including object position, orientation and room simulation. You can even import and remix existing 3D audio formats into ASAF for Apple Vision Pro.
Three Ways to View Immersive Video!
1. Streamdirectly from DaVinci Resolve to Vision Pro
You can stream directly to your Apple Vision Pro directly from the edit, color or deliver pages by going to the workspace menu and choosing ‘Stream to visionOS’. A fast wireless network is recommended for smooth streaming.
2. Airdropa rendered file to Vision Pro
Use Apple Immersive Video presets to render your project. Then the rendered AIVU can be dragged and dropped via AirDrop on to your Vision Pro. The immersive video is then stored on your Vision Pro and can be played directly locally.
3. Render ProRes bundle for Apple Compressor
Use Apple Immersive Video presets to render your project as a ProRes bundle. You can then use an Apple Immersive Video encoder to prepare it for playback on Apple Vision Pro.
Compatible with Industry StandardBatteries and Power
URSA Cine includes an 8-pin Lemo power connector at the back of the camera that works with 24V power supplies. That means it’s easy to use the camera with existing power supplies, batteries and accessories! The side of the camera includes a Fischer connector for powering accessories and there is a 2-pin Lemo connector on the battery plate for 12 volt power output. URSA Cine Immersive comes with a massive 250W power supply and B Mount battery plate so you can use a wide range of 24V batteries from manufacturers such as BEBOB, IDX, Blueshape, Core SWX and more.

Digital Slate for Fast Metadata Entry
URSA Cine features a digital slate so you can quickly add metadata to any shot! Simply swipe left or right on the built in touchscreen to bring up the digital slate. If you start and stop recording the slate can automatically increment the take numbers so you don’t have to enter them manually for each shot! You can also set your reel numbers to increment automatically each time you format a card. Custom metadata can be entered manually, along with production specific information, technical information and more! All of the metadata is saved with the files for use in post production when editing and color correcting with software such as DaVinci Resolve!
